3 • From Here and There – “gathering blue”

in wintertime crape myrtle shells
that dip and blur on empty branches
forget warm summer colors,
scooping sun and snow and sky -
the breath of winter’s chill;
they yet recall a pretty purpose,
so leftover golden baskets
still gather blue.

Breathtaking! I love the effect this lens has on your photos! Not to mention your eye.
What lens did you use … as an avid amateur I am looking at getting a new lens for the Nikon … but am torn.
    Blessings,
    Andrea

  2. Nice, Kelly. My crepe myrtle has lasted all through this awful summer with no rain and 50 days over 100.

  3. nance says:

it looks kinda like a heart

  4. Claire says:

the bokeh in your image really tugged at my heart.

  5. lissa says:

I see summer in this photo, perhaps it’s the bright blue of the sky.

  6. We had a crepe myrtle tree in our front yard in California. I just LOVED the vivid shade of pink it spread across our front yard. From the kitchen window you could catch its breathtaking beauty.

Thank you for the remembrance and the gathering of blue by the the crepe myrtle. Written with such creativity.

    Blessings,
    Janis
