My breakfast is cold. And there is a reason for that. I decided this morning that this is the week that I’m going to DO the things I’ve been thinking of doing all summer and haven’t gotten the round-tuit to do them. I was going to let the ideas go, purely because things went out of season in my back yard, but this weekend, we hit the farmer’s market and our produce co-op, and THEY JUST SO HAPPENED to have the major elements of two different shoots I’ve been thinking about this summer while I was stuck on the couch and doing other things.
So when my husband brought me breakfast this morning with figs on it, I decided that enough was enough. I was going to SHOOT THOSE THINGS and git ‘er done!
(Wow. I am in a weird mood.)
And another thing. I’ve been slogging around my blog and my website, tweaking here and there where it wouldn’t really be noticeable, when I’ve KNOWN that my logo isn’t what I want. So things were getting more and more sparse and I was hating it more and more, and I wanted replies in my comments and my sketch in my logo, photos somewhere in my blog besides in my posts, and I didn’t want my sidebar, and things were lining up funky with my backgrounds… Ahem. I stop now. You see what I mean.
So I pulled up a new theme on Saturday after I created my new logo/layout (after racking out designs for three other people on Friday), and the theme and I blinked at each other for a bit, and I took a deep breath, and then I. Did. It. The deed. The inevitable blog reinvention. And THEN I went through and updated every single blog post I have on here to accommodate the changes. And you know what? I feel all grown up now.
So YES. This is a DOING week. And there is more where this comes from.

Looks nice!! I love the new logo. I did my website last week and it was so much fun. :)
I love the earthiness of these images.
In the images where the background is very dark, the fruit looks as if it’s been thrown in the air and is floating… a cool effect, especially with the two pears.
The site is lovely.
I love these photos, they seem much different from what you usually produce, but they look like pieces of art.
Sarah, you’re right – it is different for me! It’s something I’ve been wanting to try for a while, to see how it would work!
Love the new logo! Definitely love the images too! Very different from your normal style, but I love it! It looks like it could be a painting!
LOVE the new look! of course.
And now I want to eat figs. Such delicious images! I do love them muchly. And that wood is to die for… *loves wood dead or alive*
lol! yes, the figs were delicious – and the wood, believe it or not, is just one of our dining table chairs!
Really like this look and your friendly pears!
You ARE a doer, Kelly. Even when you think you aren’t doing, I’m always amazed at the things you do–the art you make. These photos are lovely, the blog looks lovely, and I’m glad you are feeling energetic. Big hugs to you.
look at you go with those pears and figs. Seriously girl – you make everything look like art! :)
