Giveaway Winner: Peter Pollock – A Whirlwind Romance

Peter Pollockblogger, designer, businessman – has a romantic side to him that I would not have believed if I hadn’t seen it myself.

Peter won an unbelievably cool giveaway last year in which I asked entrants to create a story for me to photograph. I DIED over Peter’s story of his whirlwind romance, and over the summer, I traded a favorite couple a free engagement shoot to model Peter’s story for me. I delivered the photos, and he created a book.

Y’all, this story is a LOVE STORY. It is a take-your-breath-away, knock-you-OUT love story. And I got to be a very small part of it this last year when Peter Pollock invited me in to his idea of creating a picture book for his wife as an extra special birthday gift.

Peter Pollock, a real live English gentleman, met California girl Debbie online in 1997 AOL pinged him with a romantically familiar, “You’ve Got Mail”. Debbie was responding to a comment he’d made in an online forum, and her response intrigued him, beginning a correspondence that quickly grew into a very real friendship.

Over the next four months, their online friendship progressed to a transcontinental telephone friendship, and the two of them started to fall in love. Now, Peter has the BEST. BRITISH. ACCENT. EVER. *I* practically fell in love with him when I spoke with him on the phone – so I do not blame Debbie for doing the same. Omigosh.

About two-and-a-half months after they met, Peter flew halfway across the world to meet Debbie. Without so much as a first date, Peter invited their first kiss, and he KNEW it was love.

The night before he left town, he woke Debbie up with a ring and a huge bouquet of roses to ask her to spend the rest of her life with him.

Only six weeks passed between Peter’s proposal and their wedding, and four months after they first met online, Peter and Debbie agreed to spend the rest of their lives together. On their wedding night, they finally made it to their first date.

Fourteen years and a few children later, he is as in love with her as he was the day they met.

If you think you loved the results of this giveaway, just WAIT. On Monday, I am launching my biggest giveaway ever. If you’re a bride hoping for your dream wedding, you’re going to love this one.

    A whole ‘nother level?

Nah, this was an incredibly giveaway to win and Kelly did an awesome job with the photos but, in my opinion, if you’re really in love, this kind of stuff is just normal…. normal + one of the world’s best photographers, that is. So maybe not THAT normal :-)

Kelly, excuse me while I talk about you as if you weren’t in the room….

Kelly was a DREAM to work with. She was so accommodating and even just through email she completely understood what I wanted and pulled off some truly amazing shots.

I would recommend her to ANYONE… (why didn’t she do Prince William’s wedding?)

I’d also like to say a HUGE thank you to Aaron and Christian who kindly posed for the photo’s and made it perfect!

SWOON. Oh, you have me in tears here. Such an incredible beautiful story. I want to say more, but my heart is floating. Lovely idea with the book, too.

Awwhhh! Happy tears are so wonderful, aren’t they?

The book was all Peter’s idea – I just couldn’t get it out of my head once he entered my contest! It was a HUGE project, but it came together so perfectly in the end!

Actually, in theory, yes you can…

But that would be up to Kelly to decide if it’s OK since she took the photo’s

You obviously haven’t been around my blog for very long…

A couple of years ago I wrote a fairy tale about Princess Debbie and the knight in shining armour who rescued her from the evil ruler’s castle!

Heck no – Peter, I gave you the rights to those photos to use as you like. The story is yours. Share it however you want! ;-)
