We Heart | An Irish Memory

This one is from Ireland. It is, believe it or not, a gorsebush – you know, the kind that Winnie the Pooh fell into. I got to revisit my Ireland photos yesterday for an upcoming Image-ine article at Tweetspeak Poetry, and I ran across this shot while I was digging around.

I shot this the first evening we arrived at our bed and breakfast, with the sun on the hills and the sea we could see from our door, the pastoral landscape already more home than home felt for a very long time. I’m kind of in love with it, the way it says nothing and everything, the way the black-and-white adds a completely new dimension to flower shots (I’m totally gonna have to do a series!), with the grain and the memory.

Pete says we’re going back. I’m going to hold him to it…
