I have been DYING to show off these photos. Y’all, this was one of the most beautiful sessions I have ever done – AND it’s also the session that might just have changed my opinion on shooting with natural light indoors. Rachel and I put a light French spin on this very intimate two-part maternity/newborn shoot, and some of these images just blew me away – even though I made them!
I was going to wait to launch these with the new lifestyle section of my website (I just took a look at the changes going on and y’all are not going to believe it!), but Grey Likes Baby featured these on Monday. So. I have to share or I’m going to explode. (My self-control is worth only so much in these instances, you know…)
This week, a friend I met at BlissDom ’12 announced her pregnancy, along with the fact that she is carrying TWINS. You add to that my brother’s second baby (due any day now), Piper’s ideas that we should have another baby (she wants twins too!), and some SERIOUS baby ache on my part, and, well, let’s just say this is going to have to be my baby therapy for now. Maybe these will earn me a little commiseration?
And if you’re curious, YES, I am offering maternity/newborn sessions again, as I am expanding my portfolio to include wedding, lifestyle, and fine art work. All of me will finally get to play, without having to lock myself into one industry. I see more portraiture in my future…

Kelly, I don’t think I could ever say this enough – you are one of the most talented photographers I know! The emotion and joy and tenderness and excitement you have captured here …. gosh. Makes me all teary-eyed. What a beautiful gift to give to this family! I am ever in awe of your work.
