When Jennifer contacted me for photos, she told me only that she was hoping to get something she could use for her website – something soft and light with a little bit of a lifestyle touch. It wasn’t until I went to her website that I knew I’d be doing something special with her photos.
Jennifer is a jewelry designer with her own unique line – Jennifer West Originals – that this former OB nurse created to tell both her story and that of her clients. Her signature piece, the Nine Month Necklace…
is a special creation designed to mark each stage of fetal development with a beautiful gemstone. At the beginning of each month, a gemstone is added. Each was selected for its metaphyscial properties and represents a unique milestone your baby will achieve during that month. The necklace includes a cluster of peridot, citirine, clear quartz, amethyst, labradorite, rose quartz, aquamarine and moonstone briolettes accented by a single pearl.
Jennifer and I were a great match for photography with the same soft style and love of neutral colors, but my very favorite part of her session was finding out that the Nine Month Necklace she was wearing wasn’t merely so she could model it for her site. She was nearly three months pregnant herself!

I have to say here that I wasn’t paid to promote Jennifer’s products – I just think they are so beautifully feminine, and such a reflection of her sweet heart.
This little shoot is an example of my smallest photography collection, and I’m still looking for a couple of subjects in the Washington, D.C./ NoVa area on August 24-26. If you’re interested, please drop me an email!

Hey! The boys and I will be in town August 24-26. Maybe I should have you do some pics for us; my usual photographer here in Sac just had a baby. :)
Her jewelry is beautiful, as is the idea! And so are your pictures, which goes without saying . . . :)
We’re down here on Emerald Isle, getting a taste of NC. I’m jealous that you have the beach as a back drop to your sessions. Somehow it makes everything more lovely . . .
