In most of my weddings this year, I have had the chance to speak to the schedule so that I got 30-45 minutes with the bride and groom for portraits. It was absolute luxury for this documentary-turned-fine-art photographer, being able to plan my shots and speak in for some timeless-and-traditional poses. Honestly, it was downright addicting.
So when I scheduled a family session with one of my earliest wedding couples, I practically BEGGED them to let me shoot them a small wedding set to give them portraits I hadn’t had time to make at their wedding. They said yes, and we took a half hour or so on the back lane at Oatlands Plantation, a location that means the world to my bride, and we took a rainy, misty morning and made some magic.
Important points: 1.) Rachel styled Will’s look for this shoot, and 2.) Rachel is wearing her wedding dress post-baby (that is another session coming to the blog soon!). Her dress is still one of my all-time favorite dresses ever.
